Paa Natural Gas Storage, L.p.
A developer and operator of natural gas storage facilities, PAA Natural Gas Storage, L.P. ran underground salt-cavern storage centers such as the Pine Prairie Energy Center in Louisiana, Southern Pines in Mississippi, and Blue Water in Michigan, letting utilities and other customers tuck gas away in naturally leak-tight caverns dissolved out of salt deep underground. It was created as a separately traded master limited partnership by Plains All American Pipeline, then on December 31, 2013, it merged back into Plains and became a wholly owned subsidiary. Its former facilities have since passed to new owners, including Williams and Hartree Partners.
