Buckeye Partners, L.p.
A midstream energy company that moves, stores, and markets liquid petroleum products like gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel through thousands of miles of pipelines and scores of terminals across the US and the Caribbean. Its roots trace to the Buckeye Pipe Line Company, founded in 1886 as part of John D. Rockefeller's Standard Oil empire. The name comes from Ohio, the "Buckeye State," nicknamed for the buckeye tree, whose nuts resemble a deer's eye.
