Duff & Phelps Corp
A financial and risk advisory firm that helps companies value their assets, raise money, and manage risk. Founded in 1932 in Chicago by securities analysts William Duff and George Phelps during the Great Depression, it began by studying the complex securities of utility companies. Today it also does corporate finance, credit ratings, and investigations — and after buying the risk-consulting firm Kroll in 2018, it adopted that name in 2021, so Duff & Phelps now lives on as Kroll.
