Lake Shore Gold Corp

A Canadian gold-mining and exploration company that grew out of the Timmins Gold Camp in Ontario, running the Timmins West and Bell Creek underground mines and their shared mill. It took its name from the legendary Lake Shore Mine in Kirkland Lake, dubbed the "Jewel Box of North America," after prospector Harry Oakes staked claims along the lake's shore in 1911. Its Timmins operations live on today as a subsidiary of Pan American Silver.
