Caplease, Inc.
CapLease was a real estate investment trust that bought and managed single-tenant commercial properties — mostly office and industrial buildings leased long-term to large, creditworthy tenants under "net leases," where the renter covers taxes, insurance, and upkeep. Born as Capital Lease Funding in the early 2000s, the company rebranded to CapLease, a portmanteau of "capital" and "lease." American Realty Capital Properties acquired it in 2013.
