Power-One, Inc.

A maker of power-conversion gear, Power-One built AC/DC power supplies and DC/DC converters for telecom, data centers, and medical equipment, plus its Aurora solar inverters that turn sunlight into electricity for homes and businesses. It began in 1973 in California, first incorporated under the quirky name Power CA before becoming Power-One. Fun fact: though based in Camarillo, its Aurora solar inverters were engineered and made in Italy — and the company was later acquired by the Swiss giant ABB.
