Prolor Biotech, Inc.
A biopharmaceutical company from Israel that worked on making existing protein drugs last longer in the body, so patients could take them less often. Its lead project was hGH-CTP, a long-acting version of human growth hormone meant to replace daily injections with a weekly one. The "CTP" in the name comes from the carboxyl-terminal peptide, a natural tag borrowed from a pregnancy hormone to slow how quickly the body clears a drug. Founded in Ness Ziona in the mid-2000s, the company was bought by US-based OPKO Health in 2013.
