Connecticut Water Service, Inc.
A utility that delivers drinking water and fire-protection supply to homes and businesses across dozens of Connecticut towns, with operations in Maine too. It came together in 1956, when the Guilford-Chester and Naugatuck water companies merged and absorbed the water holdings of Connecticut Light & Power. The "Service" in its name dates to a 1975 merger, when Suburban Water Service and The Connecticut Water Company joined forces and the surviving firm took the name.
