Blackrock Credit Allocation Income Trust
A managed investment fund that pools money to buy credit-related securities — corporate bonds, high-yield "junk" bonds, bank loans, and preferred stock — seeking regular income and some growth for its shareholders. It trades on the New York Stock Exchange and launched in December 2006. Fun quirk: it began life under a different name, the BlackRock Preferred & Equity Advantage Trust, before widening its strategy and rebranding.
Closed-end fund investing at least 80% of assets in credit-related securities seeking current income, gains and capital appreciation.
