First Trust High Income Long/short Fund
A closed-end investment fund that bought high-yield corporate bonds, the kind often called "junk bonds," while taking both long and short positions on them to produce steady income. It was created in 2010 by First Trust, the Wheaton, Illinois investment firm founded by Robert Van Kampen in 1991. In 2024 the fund was folded into the abrdn Income Credit Strategies Fund, ending its run as a standalone fund on the New York Stock Exchange.
