Forest Oil Corp.

A North American oil and gas explorer that found, drilled, and produced crude oil and natural gas for nearly a century, working everywhere from Alaska and the Gulf of Mexico to the Eagle Ford Shale in Texas. It was founded in 1916 in Pennsylvania by Forest Dale Dorn, who lent the company his first name. Forest Oil pioneered waterflooding, pumping fluid into old wells to squeeze out more oil, and in 2014 merged with Sabine Oil & Gas to become Sabine Oil & Gas Corporation.
