Electronics for Imaging Inc
A maker of digital printing technology, EFI builds the Fiery print server — the "brain" that drives color printers for commercial print shops, wide-format signage and packaging. The company was founded in 1989 in San Francisco by Israeli entrepreneur Efi Arazi, who had earlier helped pioneer electronic color imaging at Scitex. Its name is a playful nod: "EFI" echoes the founder's own nickname, Efi.
