A provider of small, home-like residences for older adults, this company helps seniors who need help with daily tasks such as bathing, dressing, and managing medication while staying independent. Founded in 1994 in Wisconsin, it was bought by Extendicare, spun out as its own public company in 2006, and taken private by the investment firm TPG in 2013. In 2014 it adopted the new name Enlivant — meant to capture a renewed sense of vitality and mark a fresh start under new ownership.
