Great Western Bancorp, Inc.
A full-service community bank serving the Plains states from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Great Western Bank traces its roots to 1935, when the Farmers and Merchants Bank opened in Watertown. It adopted the Great Western name in 2003, partly because its former "Citizens" label was shared by thousands of banks nationwide. In 2022 the company was folded into First Interstate Bank and its branches rebranded.
