Eaton Vance Municipal Bond Fund
A mutual fund that invests in bonds issued by cities, states, and local agencies, aiming to give investors income that is free from regular federal tax. It is one of many municipal bond strategies run by Eaton Vance, a Boston money-management firm whose roots trace to 1924, when Charles F. Eaton Jr. founded Eaton & Howard. The name comes from a 1979 merger with another Boston investment house, Vance, Sanders & Company — an old firm that once sponsored training seminars for the mutual fund industry.
