Invesco Exchange-Traded Fund Trust
A legal umbrella trust that houses the exchange-traded funds (ETFs) run by investment firm Invesco, letting everyday investors buy baskets of stocks, like the famous Invesco QQQ, on a stock exchange just like a single share. Its roots trace to a 1978 management buyout in Atlanta, and it grew through the PowerShares brand, a firm founded in 2002 whose name played on "powering" investing. The word "Invesco" itself is a shortened nod to "investment company."
