Qualitative and Quantitative Disclosures About Market Risk
Our market risk exposure is primarily a result of fluctuations in interest rates and inflation. We do not hold or issue financial instruments for trading purposes.
Interest Rate Risk
We had cash, cash equivalents and investments of $129.2 million as of June 30, 2026. The primary goals of our investment policy are liquidity and capital preservation. We do not enter into investments for trading or speculative purposes. The carrying amount of our cash equivalents reasonably approximates fair value, due to the short maturities of these instruments. Our investments are exposed to market risk due to a fluctuation in interest rates, which may affect the fair market value of our investments in marketable debt securities. As of June 30, 2026, the effect of a hypothetical 1.00% (100 basis point) change in interest rates would have changed the fair value of our marketable debt securities by $0.9 million. Such change would only be realized if we sold the marketable debt securities prior to maturity.
Inflation Risk
Inflation generally affects us by increasing our cost of labor and goods and services. We believe that inflation has had some effect on our financial results during the periods presented. If we experience continued or future inflationary pressure, it may impact the costs of our operations as well as the costs to manufacture, sell and distribute our products and provide our services in the future. We may not be able to fully offset those increased costs through reduced spending or price increases to our products and services.
