Cantel Medical Corp

A maker of infection-prevention gear for hospitals and clinics, Cantel Medical built endoscope reprocessing systems, disinfectants, water-purification units, and dental disposables that keep medical tools clean and safe. It grew from a Canadian company founded by Walter Carsen in 1946, which began by distributing Olympus cameras and endoscopes before pivoting to medical equipment. Renamed Cantel Medical in 2000, it was acquired by STERIS in 2021 — a nice full circle for a firm that started in optics and ended in healthcare.
