Protective Insurance Corp

An insurance company that writes property and casualty coverage for the trucking industry, selling auto liability, cargo, general liability, and physical-damage policies to large fleets and independent owner-operators. It began in 1930 as the H.C. Baldwin Agency in Indianapolis and, in 1954, founded the Protective Insurance subsidiary to focus on motor carriers. Acquired by Progressive in 2021, its business now operates under the name Progressive Fleet & Specialty Programs.
