Ces Energy Solutions Corp.
One of North America's largest makers of the fluids and specialty chemicals oil and gas companies use from the drill bit to the pipeline — from drilling muds to production chemicals. Born in Calgary in 1986 out of a merger of two fluid businesses, the company went public in 2006 and in 2017 dropped "Canadian" from its name, keeping the familiar CES initials as it grew across the US. Those initials, once short for "Canadian Energy Services," now stand for nothing in particular — kept purely for brand recognition.
