Honeywell Aerospace, Inc.
A maker of aircraft engines, avionics, and auxiliary power units used by airlines, militaries, and space programs, Honeywell Aerospace supplies systems that sit on a large share of planes in the sky. The name traces to engineer Mark Honeywell's Indiana heating business, founded in 1906, and the aerospace arm became a standalone public company in 2026 when it spun off from Honeywell International. Fun trivia: a firm Honeywell later absorbed invented the world's first autopilot, shown in 1914 when its pilot stepped onto the wing of a plane flying itself.
