California Water Service Group
A regulated water utility holding company, the largest of its kind in the western United States, that produces, treats, and delivers drinking water to homes and businesses while also handling wastewater. Known as "Cal Water," it was founded in 1926 by three World War I veterans who started by consolidating water systems in the four California towns of Chico, Visalia, Bakersfield, and Fresno. Its parent holding company, California Water Service Group, was created in 1997 to help the utility expand into other states.
