Calithera Biosciences Inc
A biotech company that developed small-molecule cancer drugs, working to cut off the nutrients tumors need to grow and to re-tune the immune system to attack them. It was founded in 2010 in South San Francisco by Susan Molineaux, who previously built another biotech, Proteolix, after it was acquired by a larger drugmaker. Its name draws on Greek roots meaning "beautiful view," meant to reflect an optimistic outlook for cancer treatment.
