A maker of prescription eye drops for glaucoma and high eye pressure, best known for its once-daily drops Rhopressa and Rocklatan, used by people living with these sight-threatening conditions. It was founded in 2005 by a Duke University eye surgeon and colleagues who aimed to target the root cause of the disease rather than just its symptoms. The name is a play on "eyrie," the lofty nest of a bird of prey, fitting for a company all about vision; in 2022 it was folded into the global eye-care giant Alcon.
