Clean Earth Acquisitions Corp
A special purpose acquisition company, or "blank check" firm, is a shell created just to raise money and merge with an existing private business. Clean Earth Acquisitions Corp, formed in 2021, focused its hunt on the clean energy world—carbon solutions, hydrogen, renewable power, and sustainable agriculture—before going public in 2022 and merging with Alternus Energy Group, an Irish developer and operator of utility-scale solar parks. The union became Alternus Clean Energy, trading on the NASDAQ. A fun detail: its name often gets confused with a completely separate nationwide waste-recycling company also called Clean Earth, which has no link to this SPAC.
