Venture Global, Inc.
A maker and exporter of liquefied natural gas (LNG), Venture Global cools natural gas from American wells and ships it by tanker to buyers around the world. Its plants on the Louisiana coast — Calcasieu Pass and Plaquemines — use modular, factory-built equipment that arrives ready to bolt together on site. Co-founded in 2013 by Michael Sabel and Robert Pender, the company took its name from its founders' ambition to "venture" beyond the standard one-off plant design and ship gas "globally," a bet it later took public in 2025. The founders started it as a challenge to the traditional, heavily customized way LNG plants were built.
