Computer Sciences Corporation

A major American IT services and consulting firm that wrote programming tools like assemblers and compilers for IBM, Honeywell, and NASA during the early computer age. Founded in 1959 in Los Angeles by two engineers, Roy Nutt and Fletcher R. Jones, with just a hundred dollars in starting capital, it grew into one of the country's largest software companies. In 2017 it merged with Hewlett Packard Enterprise's services arm to become DXC Technology, a name nodding to "digital transformation."
