Air Canada
A maker of air travel, Air Canada is the flag carrier and largest airline in Canada, flying passengers and cargo to more than 200 destinations across six continents as a founding member of the Star Alliance. It began in 1937 as Trans-Canada Air Lines, a government-owned subsidiary of Canadian National Railway, and launched its first flight between Vancouver and Seattle. The airline was renamed Air Canada in 1965 — the name had already been used informally in French-speaking regions, and the change gave the carrier a bilingual identity that fit its growing international reach.
