Intercontinental Hotels Group Plc
A hotel company that operates and franchises brands such as Holiday Inn, InterContinental, and Crowne Plaza in dozens of countries. Its roots reach back to the Bass Brewery of 1777, which later bought Holiday Inn and the InterContinental hotel chain and renamed itself IHG in 2003. The InterContinental brand was born in 1946 when the founder of Pan Am built hotels for air travelers, while Holiday Inn took its name from a 1942 film.
