Dropbox, Inc.
A maker of cloud storage and file-syncing software, Dropbox lets people and teams save files online and reach them from any device, with tools for sharing and real-time collaboration. The idea came to founder Drew Houston in 2007 when he forgot his USB flash drive on a bus ride from Boston to New York, and he began coding the service on that trip. The name simply describes the experience: you "drop" files into a "box" that syncs them everywhere.
