Epr Properties
A real estate investment trust that owns and leases places people go for fun — megaplex movie theaters, amusement and water parks, ski resorts, and live-entertainment venues — renting them out to operators under long-term leases. It began in 1997 when AMC Entertainment executives, unable to find an existing REIT to finance their new megaplex theaters, founded their own company in Kansas City. Originally called Entertainment Properties Trust, it rebranded as EPR Properties in 2013 after branching out from cinemas into recreation and other "experiential" real estate.
