Alamos Gold Inc
A Canadian gold producer headquartered in Toronto that digs for the metal at three mines in Ontario and Sonora, Mexico. The company was born in 2003 from the merger of Alamos Minerals and National Gold Corporation, and its name comes from the town of Álamos in Mexico — a place named for the poplar trees (álamo in Spanish) that line its plaza. Gold was first spotted in the nearby Mulatos River by Spanish explorers back in 1536.
