A Chicago-based freight broker that uses technology to connect businesses that need to ship goods with the truck, rail, air and ocean carriers that move them. Founded in 2005 by Eric Lefkofsky and Brad Keywell, its tools like EchoShip and EchoDrive let shippers book and track freight and carriers find loads. The name plays on how the company "echoes" information back and forth between shippers and carriers, and its founders also went on to help launch Groupon.
