Enerplus Corp

A Canadian oil and natural gas producer based in Calgary, Enerplus explored for and pumped energy from mature fields in western Canada and the United States. It began in 1986 as Enerplus Resources Fund, created by a pension fund manager and a lawyer as Canada's first oil and gas income trust—a way to hand regular income to everyday investors. Its name blends "Energy" and "Plus," nodding to that extra income, and in 2024 the company was folded into Chord Energy.
