Envision Healthcare Corp
A national hospital-based physician group based in Nashville, Tennessee, Envision Healthcare staffs and manages clinical teams for US hospitals, placing doctors and advanced providers in emergency rooms, anesthesia, and hospital medicine. Its story starts in 1972 when EmCare launched in Dallas to run emergency departments for hospitals, and grew when the private equity firm Onex paired it with ambulance provider American Medical Response, renaming the whole company Envision in 2013. It later merged with surgery-center operator AmSurg in 2016 to become one of the country's largest physician organizations.
