Ferrellgas Partners, L.p.

A distributor of propane, Ferrellgas delivers fuel for home heating, cooking, and farm use and runs the familiar Blue Rhino portable tank-exchange program at many stores. It grew out of the A.C. Ferrell Butane Gas Company, founded in Atchison, Kansas, in 1939. The Blue Rhino name came from a founder who, on safari in Africa, thought a rhino resembled a propane tank—and "blue" is the color of a propane flame.
