Fifth Street Finance Corp.
A business development company that lent money to small and mid-sized U.S. companies, typically via senior secured loans and mezzanine debt, often backing private-equity deals. Founder Leonard Tannenbaum started the firm at 27 in 1998 from a two-room office in White Plains, New York, and took it public in 2008. In 2017 its management contracts were sold to Oaktree Capital, and the company was renamed Oaktree Specialty Lending Corporation.
