An American pharmaceutical company built on licensed medicines, especially for the brain and heart, whose best-known products were the antidepressants Celexa and Lexapro. It began in 1956 as a small New York laboratory service that helped larger drugmakers develop their medicines, then pivoted to licensing and selling branded drugs of its own. Despite the leafy name, no record explains why it was ever called "Forest."
