A parent company whose airline subsidiary, Hawaiian Airlines, long served as the largest and longest-running carrier flying between and beyond the Hawaiian Islands. Founded in 1929 as Inter-Island Airways by a former Navy pilot, it was renamed Hawaiian Airlines in 1941. Its Pualani logo, meaning "Flower of the Sky," has adorned its aircraft since 1973; the company was acquired by Alaska Air Group in 2024.
