Healthcare Trust of America Inc

A real estate investment trust that owns and operates medical office buildings — the clinics and doctors' offices where millions of Americans see their physicians. It grew into one of the largest dedicated owners of these buildings in the country, favoring properties on or beside hospital and university campuses. Launched in 2006 under the name Grubb & Ellis Healthcare REIT and listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 2012, it merged with Healthcare Realty Trust in 2022 and folded into that company under the ticker HR. Fun fact: despite Healthcare Trust of America being the legal successor in that "reverse merger," the combined firm kept its partner's name instead.
