Dnb Asa
A Norwegian financial services group and one of the country's largest banks, offering everyday banking, loans, savings, insurance, and mobile payments to households and businesses. Its roots go back to 1822, when Christiania Sparebank was founded in Oslo to give workers a place to deposit their weekly wages; the modern DNB emerged from a 1990 merger that created Den norske Bank, followed by further mergers in 2003. In 2015 the bank launched Vipps, a mobile payment app so popular that Norwegians now say they will "Vippse" money to friends instead of paying them.
