Hollyfrontier Corporation
A US oil refiner that turns crude oil into gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel, HollyFrontier traces its roots to 1947, when its predecessor began as General Appliance Corporation and later renamed itself Holly Corporation. In 2011 it merged with Frontier Oil in a "merger of equals"—though an earlier 2003 merger attempt had fallen through amid litigation. In 2022 it absorbed Sinclair Oil and took the stock ticker DINO as a wink to the iconic green dinosaur mascot.
