A special purpose acquisition company, or SPAC — a "blank check" firm created to raise money and merge with a private business to take it public. Founded in 2021, it listed on the Nasdaq and set its sights on the real estate industry, but in 2024 it instead merged with HWH International, a lifestyle company behind the Hapi Cafe chain and its "Health, Wealth and Happiness" marketplace. After that deal, the old shell stopped trading on its own and the combined company now trades under the ticker HWH.
