Hudson Executive Investment Corp
A special purpose acquisition company, or SPAC — often called a "blank check" company — that exists to raise money through an initial public offering and use it to merge with a private business and take it public. Founded in 2020 by the New York hedge fund Hudson Executive Capital, it became best known for taking Talkspace, a virtual behavioral-healthcare company, onto the Nasdaq in 2021. Its "Hudson" name simply comes from its sponsoring fund, which counts the Hudson River as part of its New York identity.
