Idw Media Holdings, Inc.
A publisher of comic books and graphic novels that ranks among the largest in the United States, IDW also develops its stories into TV and film through an entertainment division. Its name stands for "Idea and Design Works," and it was founded in San Diego in 1999 by four former Wildstorm colleagues who got their first clients when Jim Lee sold that studio to DC Comics. It publishes licensed titles like Star Trek, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Sonic the Hedgehog, plus original horror such as 30 Days of Night.
