A specialty pharmaceutical company that developed and marketed generic and branded medications, with a particular strength in controlled-release drug delivery. Founded in 1995 as Impax Pharmaceuticals, it took its name through a 1999 reverse merger with the publicly traded Global Pharmaceutical Corporation, and became known for Parkinson's disease treatments like Rytary. In 2018 it merged with Amneal Pharmaceuticals, ending its run as an independent company.
