A British biotechnology company that engineers a novel class of immunotherapies that harness the body's T cells to fight disease, using its ImmTAX platform. Its first approved medicine, KIMMTRAK, treats a rare eye cancer called uveal melanoma and was the first T-cell receptor therapy ever approved. The company grew out of T-cell research at the University of Oxford, spun out in 2008, and its platform name stands for "Immune Mobilizing Monoclonal TCRs Against X disease."
