A biopharmaceutical company that fights cancer by tethering chemotherapy to antibodies that seek out tumor cells. Its flagship product, Trodelvy, targets a protein common on many cancers and was approved for metastatic breast cancer. Founded in 1982 by physician-scientist Dr. David Goldenberg, the name blends "immuno-" (its antibody science) with "medics." Gilead Sciences acquired the firm in 2020, and Trodelvy remains on the market.
