Independent Bank Group Inc

A bank holding company based in McKinney, Texas, that serves businesses and families through its Independent Financial bank, offering checking, savings, and lending products. Its roots reach back to 1913, when the institution began as The First National Bank of Anna; an investor group led by David R. Brooks acquired it in 1988, and the holding company was organized in 2002. The "Independent" name was chosen to convey community-based, locally run banking, and in early 2025 the company merged into SouthState Bank.
