Kadmon Holdings Inc
A maker of treatments for serious diseases, Kadmon Holdings developed small-molecule drugs targeting conditions such as autoimmune and fibrotic diseases, with its therapy belumosudil used to treat chronic graft-versus-host disease. The New York-based biopharmaceutical company was founded by Samuel Waksal, the immunologist who had previously led ImClone Systems, and took its name from a Hebrew word meaning "primordial" or "original." Its drug-builder's story came full circle when another company later acquired it to continue the pipeline.
